Yoga Nidra is a form of yogic sleep, a deep bodily relaxation combined with meditative awareness; you are at complete rest whilst being fully aware of and at peace with your surroundings. This practice goes beyond relaxation, allowing the entire body and nervous system to be liberated, leaving you with a grounded, stable and restored constitution.
No effort is required on your part; you simply listen to the guided practice and, over time, allow the effects to unfold.
You may be invited to make a resolve and take this into your practice; but this is not always necessary and you may simply wish to enjoy the experience.
